The time has come when India and England finally face off in the 1st of the 4 Test Series. The 1st Test will be played from November 15 at the Sardar Patel Stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad. Both teams are evenly matched and it promises to be a high voltage series.
INDIA: After the retirement of Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman, it is going to be the first time that India are going play a test series against a good quality bowling attack. But the Indian youngsters certainly back a punch and will look to fill their shoes somewhat. No one can doubt the ability of Pujara and Kohli with the bat. The inclusion of Yuvraj Singh is a great advantage as he can be useful with the ball too.
The Indian opening duo of Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag has been failing for a long time and everyone will want them to score big in Ahmedabad. India is likely to go in with 4 bowlers. Zaheer, Umesh, Ashwin and Ojha will be the four front-line bowlers in the team with Sehwag and Yuvraj rolling their arms at some stage of the game.
ENGLAND: They are the side that whitewashed India 4-0 in 2011 in their home to become the No.1 side in Tests. They are currently placed No.2 in the rankings. England have not won a Test Series in India for 28 years and they will like to end the drought this year.
Captain Cook, Bell, Pietersen and Trott will be the men to watch out with the bat as far as England are concerned. Anderson and Swann will be men that India need to be wary off because both of them are world-class bowlers. So be ready to witness this fantastic battle as it kicks off on Thursday.
