England's 3 Day Warm Up Match against India 'A' ended in a Draw after both teams scored big runs in the 1st innings. But the most important thing that came out of the match was the performance of Yuvraj Singh. He not only scored a quick 59 in the first innings but also took 5 wickets for 94 runs to prove his fitness in the longer version of the game.
India 'A' batted first and managed to get to 369. Manoj Tiwary starred with the bat as he notched up 93 runs in 150 balls. Abhinav Mukund too got into the act and made 73. But the highlight was the knock of 59 in 80 balls by Yuvraj Singh that stole the show on Day 1.
England's new opener Nick Compton failed as he was dismissed early. But Captain Alastair Cook and Samit Patel made merry on Day 2 and Day 3 as both of them scored centuries. Matt Prior and Jonathan Trott too chipped in with half-centuries as the England innings folded up for 426, leading India 'A' by 57 runs. Yuvraj Singh shone with the ball as he took 5/94 which included the price scalps of Kevin Pietersen, Ian Bell, Samit Patel and Matt Prior.
India 'A' then ended Day 3 at 124/4 with Ajinkya Rahane scoring 54. This warm up match proved to much more important for India rather than England as it ensured Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Ajinkya Rahane and Manoj Tiwary atleast a good contention before the selectors meet on November 5 to select the Indian team for the first Test vs England starting November 15.
