DD vs KKR: The battle of the Table Toppers

The two Delhi boys will be locking horns at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in  Delhi on Monday night. Virender  Sehwag will be leading the home side Delhi Daredevils and Gautam Gambhir will be the one challenging him with his Kolkata Knight Riders squad. Both teams have performed exceedingly well in this edition of the IPL with Delhi Daredevils heading the points table and Kolkata Knight Riders just 1 point behind them at the second spot. Whoever wins tonight will be going at the top of the table tonight and will be guaranteed a place in the Play-Offs. So both teams will be giving it their everything and it promises to be a thrilling encounter at the Kotla.

Delhi Daredevils are playing at home and teams have found it difficult to beat them in their own den. Virender Sehwag has been in scintillating touch with the bat at the top of the order and will be eyeing to get the Orange Cap too. Although Kevin Pietersen has left for England, the Daredevils will be hoping the dangerous Aussie opener David Warner fires for them. The names of Virender Sehwag and David Warner at the top of the order are enough to wreckle the nerves of any opposition. Morne Morkel has been at his best with both the new and the old ball with 19 wickets in the tournament so far. The left arm spin duo of Nadeem and Negi have proved to be very useful for DD and have proveded crucial breakthroughs when Sehwag wanted them to.

Kolkata Knight Riders are full of confidence going into this match after beating Pune Warriors last Saturday and will be looking to carry on the momentum. Gautam Gambhir has been the trump card for KKR both with the bat and his captaincy skills. With players like Brendon McCullum, Jacques Kallis and Manoj Tiwary around him, Gambhir has played freely and allowed others to play their natural game. Sunil Narine and Brett Lee are the ones spear-heading the Knight Riders bowling attack and are the main reasons why KKR are at the second place in the points table. Brett Lee has swung the new ball both ways and provided the much needed early wickets and Sunil Narine is the man who has tied the opposition down with his variations at the death.

This is surely going to be a match to watch out for with the NO.1 team battling it out against the No.2 team. Get ready for another close match this season ath the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi.
