India At The ICC World T20 2012

The ICC World Twenty20 is here and we are just 5 days away from the inaugural match of the tournament. The warm up matches have already kicked of on Thursday as all the 12 teams eye the Coveted Trophy in Sri Lanka. The tournament will start on 18 September and the Final will be played on October 7.

India are going into the tournament with huge expectations from them. The Indian Cricket Team knows perfectly well that more than a billion people will be watching them eagerly as they take the field in the ICC World T20. India won the Inaugural Edition of the ICC World T20 in South Africa in 2007 but failed to reach the Semis in the next two events in 2009 and 2010.

India have got a good mixture of youth and experience and the tracks in Sri Lanka will suit their line up perfectly. The comebacks of Harbhajan and Yuvraj will help them immensely. India have got a strong batting line up and the form that Virat Kohli is in, India can challenge the best of the bowling attacks.

India have got a couple of very good spinners in Ashwin and Harbhajan. But the area that India will have to focus a lot is bowling at the death. India give away plenty of runs in the final overs and that sometimes proves to be the undoing. Zaheer Khan and Irfan Pathan might be the answers to these questions.

INDIA'S MATCHES IN  ICC WORLD T20:
  • India vs Afghanistan - 19 September (7.30 pm)
  • India vs England - 23 September (7.30 pm).
