India completed a 2-0 whitewash over New Zealand in the 2 Test Series after they won the 2nd Test in Bengaluru by 5 wickets. Virat Kohli was adjudged the Man of the Match for his knocks of 103 & 51* and R.Ashwin became the Man of the Series as he picked up 18 wickets in the 2 Tests.
New Zealand batted first and put 365 on the board, courtesy 113 by Ross Taylor. Ojha grabbed 5 wickets. India replied by scoring 353, falling 12 short of the Kiwi total. Virat Kohli was the star with 103 and Southee picked up career best 7/64.
Having a 12 run lead, New Zealand managed to get to 248 with Ashwin getting 5 wickets. India had 261 to chase on Day 4. Sehwag and Gambhir got India off to a flier but fell in their 30s. Pujara(48) then added 69 with Tendulkar(27). India then slumped from 152/2 to 166/5.
But Kohli and Dhoni ensured that India got to the target without any further hiccups, adding 96 unbeaten for the 6th wicket. Kohli remained not out on 51 and Dhoni on 48. India had earlier won the 1st Test in Hyderabad by an innings and 115 runs.
