The game between the Spanish giants Real Madrid and German
top club Bayern Munich ,escalated into a
fierce battle of nerves as the fate of
the match was sealed in the dying minute
of the game , Bayern ‘s striker Mario Gomez
, scored the 2nd goal for his team ensuring a 2-1 victory over their
counterpart on the first leg of the
Champions League Semi-Final round at Munich .
The game was very competitive
from the beginning as both the teams restricted the other’s domination of midfield ,it was Frenchman Frank Ribery who converted the first goal
after an unsuccessful attempt to
clear a corner from Toni kroos by defender Sergio Ramos ,the scoreboard read 1-0 after the ball went pass casillias inside the net . However many at the away bench claimed for an offside
but it was not be as the Frenchman got
his name in the scorecard s ,the equalizer
came from Mesut Ozil who leveled terms with the German side after
slotting in a pass from fellow teammate
and Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo ,this
time around Neuer failed to stop the shot by the german prodigy and
conceded a crucial home goal
which may prove vital in second leg as the Bavarians travel to Madrid , apart from ronaldo’s usual tricks with the ball ,and rather hopeful
tries at the goal ,the Portuguese start
missed two free kicks in the first phase of the game .
Emotions were running
high during the later phase of the match
as brief tussles and exchange of words seemed to quite frequent and
entertained the players on the pitch , a mistimed tackle from Marcelo earned a yellow card as he crushed Thomas muller
a substitute introduced recently on the pitch , however it was Bayern Forward Mario Gomez who sealed the game for the German
side scoring in the 90th minute of the game and earned his team in the words of Bayern defender Badstuber “ A
fully deserved win”.
Now the Spanish side has to score at least 2 goals more in the 2nd leg of the Champions League Semifnal
round in order to get them through to the finals on aggregate .
