Barcelona Wins Kings Cup 2012 ,Guardiola says farewell

Pep Guardiola ended his four years at Spanish club Barcelona winning the Kings Cup against Athletic Bilbao on Friday, which marks the coach's 14th title in a span of four years with the Catalans , Athletic Bilbao on the other  hand , shortly after their  UEFA Cup Final defeat at the hands of Atletico Madrid faced the Spanish giants Barcelona who were also eliminated from the UEFA Champions League Semifinals against eventual winners Chelsea F.C.

 Barcelona had featured  in the Kings Cup final 2011 , where they went down to Real Madrid 1-0 during extra time ,and ultimately giving Madrid the Cup.

This time however , the cup tie was all the more important as it was coach Guardiola's last assignment as the head of affairs for the team . Barcelona , justifying Guardiola's trophy laden career won him the King's Cup 2012 as a final farewell gift .

It was Spaniard Pedro , who  scored 2 goals in the game ,with another coming from Argentine prodigy Lionel Messi , at the stroke of 20th minute .Pedro scored the opener ,from a loose ball which landed before him after a corner , which saw the Spaniard capitalize  . The third also came from Pedro who struck the final nail in the coffin for Bielsa's men .

After a successful ending to a glorious  four years with the Catalans , Pep will now be taking some time off from football, however his recent actions hints that he may be back soon , ready to undertake a new venture with a new club . Barca's Assistant coach Vilanova will now take control over matters at the club , as the last game of the Spanish season ends with Barcelona winning the King's Cup.
