RR vs DD: Sehwag storms Jaipur

Once again the Delhi Daredevils were up against the Rajasthan Royals and this time it was at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium at Jaipur. Rajasthan Royals won the toss and decided to bat first. The Royals got off to a fantastic start as the duo of Rahane and Dravid notched up 70 runs in the first 8 overs. Dravid scored his consecutive 25 plus score of the tournament. Both of them were looking good until Rahane played a poor shot and gave his wicket away for 42. This resulted in the fall of a flurry of wickets for Rajasthan Royals as they lost Watson, Hodge, Shah and Menaria quickly. Suddenly the Royals slumped from 71/0 to 95/5. Dravid anchored the innings well and scored 57 in 43 balls to take the Rajasthan Royals score to 141/6 in 20 overs. Negi was the pick of the bowlers as he took 4/18.

Delhi Daredevils had a small total to chase but when Mahela Jayawardene was out for 0 in the third ball of the innings, it looked like Royals had a chance. But that was not to be because Virender Sehwag tore the Royal bowling a part and Pietersen was scoring runs at the other end too. Sehwag completed his 50 in just 20 balls by playing a wonderful upper cut for 6. He scored his 5th 50 on the trot and became the first batsman in the world to do so. Sehwag and KP added 96 for the second wicket and when KP was out for 36 the match was sealed. Later Sehwag too got out on 73 and is just 13 runs behind the Orange Cap Holder Rahane. Delhi reached the target with 4.4 overs to spare and maintain their top spot in the table.

Rahane-42 (32)
