Delhi Daredevils will be taking on the Deccan Chargers at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday evening. Delhi Daredevils have been running red hot in this tournament till now and are at the second spot in the table with 16 points, just 1 point behind the table toppers Kolkata Knight Riders. Delhi Daredevils will be looking to register a win tonight and go straight up to the top. Virender Sehwag has been in sizzling touch with the bat so far and is second in the list of highest run getters. With David Warner opening with him, he will surely be a lot more relaxed at the crease. David Warner too would be hoping to fire all cylinders as he missed out in the earlier game. With the likes of Mahela Jayawardene and Ross Taylor in the middle order, Delhi Daredevils have certainly got a top heavy strong batting line up and players like Nagar, Naman Ojha and Irfan Pathan are scoring crucial runs at the end too. The bowling line up is full of quality pacers with Morne Morkel spearheading the attack. Delhi Daredevils will surely be starting as the favourites.
Deccan Chargers are just waiting for the tournament to get over because they have gone through a terrible patch this season with just 2 wins in 12 games. Although they have lost quite a few close encounters which could have gone either side, they have nobody but themselves to blame for the poor performance. Deccan Chargers also have got a poor home record and there is simply just no motivation in the team. They will be playing for pride tonight and hope to end the tournament on a high and give their supporters some joy. Kumar Sangakkara has been the big flop as far as Deccan Chargers are concerned because neither has he fired with the bat nor his captaincy skills have been great. Only Shikhar Dhawan and Cameron White have scored runs consistently with no support from the others. The bowling too has been disappointing and apart from some fiery spells from Dale Steyn, there has been nothing remarkable in the bowling department.
Today's game will not disturb the standings in the points table much and is looking as if it will be a one sided game. But T20 is a game of unexpectations and the Chargers might pull off a surprise. So be ready to witness the action live from 4 pm IST onwards.
