The match of the DLF IPL 2012 is here at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata when the city's team goes against the city's favourite son Sourav Ganguly. Surely, the City Of Joy is in a big dilemma and confused over which team to support in the Mother Of All Battles today evening. The whole City is divided into two halves as some people seek emotions getting into their minds as the Bengal Tiger and the Brand Ambassador of West Bengal will be up against the Kolkata Knight Riders. There was a big fuss over the sale of tickets with many people returning empty handed even though they had queued up the 12 hours before the tickets went on sale. It is also termed as the battle between Shah Rukh Khan and Sourav Ganguly because KKR did not retain him after the 3rd season. Most of the crowd will be behind Dada's men Pune Warriors and Kolkata Knight Riders are going to feel away from home.
Kolkata Knight Riders have played some fantastic cricket upto now in the league and need just 2 more wins to qualify for the Play Offs. They would surely want to win today and inch closer to the knock out stages for the second time in a row. Gautam Gambhir has led from the front and is the man that KKR would be banking on him to perform again and get his side past the finishing line. Jacques Kallis has not looked his fluent best with the bat so far but has provided KKR with some crucial wickets. Brett Lee and Sunil Narine have been superb with the ball and batsmen have found it difficult to score against them. Gambhir has used Narine at the death and he responded well too. They are a very balanced side and a tough one to beat at home.
Sourav Ganguly is back home, but this time he will be leading the Pune Warriors India against the Kolkata Knight Riders. Pune Warriors have certainly gone off the boil as far as their performance in the last 4 matches is concerned. They have just 8 points from their 11 games and need to win all the remaining 5 matches to get to the play offs. Pune Warriors will be expecting some fireworks from their top-heavy batting order which includes the likes of Jesse Ryder, Michael Clarke, Manish Pandey and Robin Uthappa. Steve Smith has been doing the finisher's job pretty well. The Eden Gardens crowd will be hoping that their son Sourav Ganguly scores big because it might be last that he will be playing in front of his home team. So, be ready to witness the game of the season from 4 pm onwards today.
