Greece after starting out their Euro 2012 campaign with a draw against Co-Hosts Poland , are to face table toppers Russia tonight in their third and last game of the group stages. After suffering a 1-2 defeat at the hands of Czech Republic in Wroclaw on the12th of June , they are now almost out of picture for a spot in the Quarterfinals . Though , only a few considered them as contenders for this year's Euros , but till now Greece haven't been able to justify themselves as the Champions of Euro 2004 . Tonight , Greece will face a well coordinated Russian side led by Dick Advocaat , who will look to give their best tonight in order to assure , their entry in the last eight of the Euro Cup 2012.
Having , drew their last game against Poland ,there was a widespread feeling of scrutiny which originated among Russian fans and media , and even culminated to a post match brawl involving Russian and Polish goons . Eventually , Police intervention were required to stop the mob outrage .
Tonight, however , fans across both ends will be under heavy supervision of stewards along with police officials. Matters that night went to such extents that UEFA peace keeping committee imposed a lifelong Ban upon some Russian fans from entering Polish Stadium premises .
According to reports , from UEFA , implementation of such actions were necessary to provide a peaceful and harmonious environment for the people , Supporters and tourists in Poland .
Alan Dzagoev will be the man to look for tonight , as this promising young talent has suddenly attracted eyeballs all over the world on account of his performances in last two games, Dzagoev, is also in the race for claiming the golden boot in this years Euro Cup. Fellow teammate and Arsenal forward Arshavin , has praised him as 'one of the best talents in Europe', and it will certainly be exciting enough , to see what this Russian prodigy , has in store for the world tonight .
Greece , on the other hand will be relying upon a comparatively older league of talents , and will look to end their campaign this year on a high .
