They say "make hay while the sun shines" and the Delhi Daredevils surely did that at the Feroz Shah Kotla on Thursday. Deccan Chargers were batting first and were still searching or their first victory in this edition of the IPL. The Chargers did not start well as they lost their in form skipper Kumar Sangakkara quite early in the innings. But the two young left handers Shikhar Dhawan and Parthiv Patel took on the Delhi bowlers and smashed them to all parts of the ground. The duo were going along well until Shahbaz Nadeem was introduced into the attack. He struck early and dismissed both Dhawan and Parthiv in quick succession. This resulted in a mini collapse for the Chargers as they lost wickets at regular intervals. It needed a quickfire 28 from Chipli to guide the Chargers to 157/8 in the 20 overs. Morne Morkel and Nadeem took 3 wickets each for the Daredevils.

There were huge expectations from Viru, but he succumbed to a outswinger to Steyn. Delhi got off to a poor start and continued to lose wickets. Mahela and Taylor failed with the bat too and Delhi were reduced to 65/4. But then the mighty Kevin Pietersen took on the charge and was really at his fluent best. He was dropped thrice and he certainly made the Chargers pay for it. He scored the second century of this year's IPL and got good support from Nagar too. The duo ensured that Delhi registered their 4th victory this season. KP finished the match in style by hitting a six off Ankeet Sharma and reaching his belligerent 100. Delhi reached the target with 5 balls to spare. Steyn was the only bowler who troubled the batsmen somewhat.Here are the scores in brief:
