It was Saina Nehwal all the way on Saturday as she bagged a Bronze Medal in the Women's Singles Badminton tournament at the London Olympics.
Saina Nehwal created history by becoming the first Indian to win a Medal in Badminton at the Olympic Games and only the 2nd woman after Karnam Malleswari to win a Medal for India in the Olympics.
Saina Nehwal won the Bronze Medal match after her opponent Xin Wang retired due to an injury. Saina Nehwal thanked her parents, her coach P.Gopichand and all her well-wishers and said that she will certainly try hard to change the colour of the Medal at the Rio Edition of the Olympics.
This was India's 3rd Medal at the London Olympics after Gagan Narang and Vijay Kumar won a Bronze and a Silver Medal respectively.
