BCCI nominates Rahul Dravid for Khel Ratna and Yuvraj Singh for Arjuna Award


The Board of Control for Cricket in India forwarded the names Of Rahul Dravid and Yuvraj Singh to the Government for the Khel Ratna and Arjuna Awards respectively. The Government extended the deadline for nominations to July 20 and BCCI nominated these two cricketers.

Rahul Dravid, former India Captain, who just retired from all forms of international cricket has scored more than 24,000 international runs and will be one of the nominees for the most prestigious Sports Award in India-"Khel Ratna". Only 2 cricketers (Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni) have received this award uptil now. Rahul Dravid has served Indian Cricket for the past 16 years and certainly deserves to be nominated for the Khel Ratna.

Yuvraj Singh was nominated for the Arjuna Awards, keeping in mind his brilliant show with both the bat and the ball in the ICC World Cup 2011. He was the architect of India winning the World Cup. Who could forget his fight with Cancer and the kind of courage and determination shown by him while combating with it. He is a role model for the youngsters and and his stature justifies his nomination to the Arjuna Awards.
