Vijender Singh was through to the Pre-Quarter Finals of the Men's middle weight 75kg category boxing event in the London Olympics 2012 after beating Kazakhstan's Danabek Suzhanov 14-10 in the first round.
Vijender Singh was at his prime best right from the word go. The first round was a close one but Vijender Singh ended up taking a 5-4 lead. It was a close round but Vijender displayed his skills well.
Danabek Suzhanov tried hard to make comeback in the Second Round, but Vijender's experience came in handy as he finished 9-7 in the lead at the end of the Second Round.
Vijender just had to keep his cool in the 3rd round and maintain the lead to win the match. He did just that and ended up winning the match 14-10.
Vijender Singh had won a bronze medal at the Beijing Olympics and hopes are high from him at the London Games too.
