England vs South Africa 1st Test: Proteas To Take On The Mighty English Team

England vs South Africa 1st Test starts today at the Kennington Oval as the test crown will be on stake. The winner of this 3 Test Series will become the No.1 ranked test team in the world. South Africa  have a golden opportunity in their hands and will surely not want it to go. South Africa have toured England 4 times before, winning 1, losing 1 and drawing 2 series.

England have got a very good test side and will try desperately to defend their ranking. Andrew Strauss will be the key man at the top of the order along with Alastair Cook. Both of them will have to tackle the likes of Steyn, Morkel and Philander, which is surely not going to be easy. The middle order will feature the likes of Trott, Pietersen and Bell. All of these 3 will play a crucial role in deciding the fate of England in the series. England will field 3 seamers, Anderson, Broad and Bresnan and a spinner in Graeme Swann.

South Africa have already been hurt by the injury to Mark Boucher and Tsolekeli has been called as a replacement. But the Proteas will be looking ahead and aiming to become No.1 in Test Cricket. The batting will rest on Graeme Smith and Hashim Amla at the top with Jacques Kallis and AB de Villiers coming in the middle. South Africa will be expecting big things from their pace bowlers. They have got 3 of the  best fast bowlers in the world right now and they could destroy any batting line up in the world. Imran Tahir will be the lone spinner as the Oval track might break down on Day 5.

This series promises to be one cracker as the top two test sides go head to head against each other. So get ready to witness a grinding game of Test Cricket today at the Kennington Oval, London as the most awaited series of 2012 begins.

The match is scheduled to start at 10.00 GMT.
