The star pair of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponappa lost their opening group game in the London Games to the Japanese duo of Mizuki Fujii and Reika Kakiiwa at the London Olympics Badminton tournanent on Sunday.
The Indian pair of Gutta and Ponappa lost their Group B match 16-21,18-21. The road ahead is quite tough for Gutta and Ponappa as they will have to win both their remaining games to qualify for the knock outs.
Earlier, Jwala Gutta and V.Diju had lost their opening game in the Badminton Mixed Doubles tournament. They too will be in a must win situation on Sunday in their Group C match against the Danish duo of Kamilla Ryter Juhl and Thomas Laybourn.
