West Indies vs New Zealand 1st ODI: Kiwis Aim For A Good Start

New Zealand will be locking horns with West Indies in the 1st of the 5 ODI Series starting today at Kingston in Jamaica. West Indies had earlier won the 2 T20 Series 2-0 held in Florida. New Zealand will be looking to bounce back after their poor performance in the T20 Series. They will certainly be boosted by the return of Brendon McCullum and Daniel Vettori, who have been the star performers for them in the past few years. Ross Taylor will be missing this game due to a shoulder injury. They will also be hoping that the likes of Martin Guptill and Kane Williamson fire with the bat because they have got enough experience at the highest level. The bowling will rest on Southee and Mills.

West Indies have certainly risen from the Ashes after the return of Chris Gayle and today he will be playing at his home ground. So there is more reason for him to fire. Another person who has made a comeback after the IPL is Dwayne Smith. He has been simply amazing at the top of the order for West Indies. West Indies rely heavily on their pack of all rounders in the likes of Smith, Bravo, Pollard, Russell and Sammy. They provide the perfect balance to the Windies team in the shorter format of the game. Sunil Narine will once again be the eye catcher as he steps on to the field at the Sabina Park in Kingston. So expect youselves to be thrilled by a fascinating encounter today.

The match is scheduled to start at 14.30 GMT on TEN CRICKET and TEN HD.
