Chester-Le-Street is all ready to host the 4th ODI between England and Australia today. England are currently 2-0 ahead in the series with 1 game being washed out due to rain. Both England and Australia will be giving it their all because both have got big reasons to win this game. England will look to win today and seal the series, while Australia need to win today to stay alive in the series. So, this game promises to be a big spectacle as none of the teams would be taking the game likely.
England have been in tremendous form this season, winning 7 ODI's on the trot. Alastair Cook has been the architect of the brilliant show of talent by these Englishmen. Cook has infused new enthusiasm and the team is gelling well under his captaincy. Today, the England hopes will lie on Bell and Cook at the top of the order. The England middle order has perfomed when needed and the likes of Trott, Bopara and Morgan have got the ability to deliver under pressure. England have now found a perfect ODI wicket keeper in Craig Kieswetter who can both open the innings and bat in the middle order. His performance with the bat has been a big plus point for England in the recent past. Kieswetter's wicket keeping skills too are inferior to none. England will once again look to play 4 pacers and Graeme Swann as the lone spinner in today's game. Anderson and Bresnan have been extraordinary with the ball so far in the series. Jade Dernbach will be missing this game due to an injury and Chris Woakes has been recalled in the England team as a replacement.
Australia have been far from their best in the series upto now and have failed to perform as a unit. Michael Clarke has got reasons to worry as the big names are failing consistently. Mitchell Johnson was back in the side in the previous game but failed to make a mark as he was way off his line and length. Brett Lee too has been struggling to get wickets with the new ball. The batting for Australia has been a roller coaster ride with some batsmen failing on a day and scoring runs on the other day. Today, Australia will be looking for a more consistent show from their batsmen. Australia have now got their work cut-out and have no option left but to win the remaining 2 games. So, be ready to witness this battle today as the arch rivals face off against each other.
The match is scheduled to start at 9.45 GMT.
