The Indian Mixed Doubles pair of Jwala Gutta and V.Diju are virtually out of the London Olympics after their second consecutive loss in the London Olympics Badminton tournament here on Sunday.
The 8th rank Danish pair of Thomas Laybourn and Kamilla Rytter Juhl dominated the Indian pair of Gutta and Diju right throughout the match and beat the Indian pair 12-21,16-21 in just about half an hour's time.
The Danish pair opened up with a 6-3 lead with the Indian pair playing some false shots. The Danish pair later extended the lead to 12-4. Indians tried to catch up but the lead was too big for them. They lost the set 12-21.
Gutta and Diju began poorly in the second set as well, handing a 5-0 lead to Laybourn and Juhl. Gutta and Diju did well to level at 7-7, but the Denmark duo then ran away with the game to win the set 16-21.
Jwala Gutta and V.Diju will now take on the Korean pair of Yong Dae Lee and Jung Eun Ha in their last group game on Tuesday.
